Logistics and purchasing assistant – OnePower Benin Internship leading to a fixed-term contract
OnePower Benin is looking for a logistics and purchasing assistant to manage with the logistics and purchasing manager the supply and logistics tasks associated with the electrification activities of rural villages in Benin. OnePower Benin, an independent startup, has been selected as the preferred developer of solar power plants in Benin. OnePower Benin was incorporated with the mission to develop bankable Payable Solar (PAYG) mini-grids for community electrification and is currently entering the execution phase of its mini-grid portfolio.
The responsibilities of the Logistics and Purchasing Assistant include, but are not limited to :
- Manage purchase orders and delivery orders.
- Monitor the progress of the procurement plan and provide feedback to the project management team.
- Organize the movement of goods from suppliers to OnePower head office or construction sites in Benin with his manager.
- Ability to prepare a monthly budget for all logistics activities at the company level.
- Participate in the supply chain strategy and provide information in terms of VAT and duties applicable to specific equipment purchased outside of Benin.
- Management of temporary imports and exports of goods.
- Planning for internal transport in Benin (OnePower fleet and third party leased transport) in support of project implementation/construction plans.
Required skills and experience :
- Hold at least a bac+2 or other field.
- To be motivated.
- Have the ability to adapt quickly.
- Have the ability to anticipate.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French (and possibly Fon).
- Have skills in information technology (computers, tablets, office software for data analysis and document generation).
- Have computer skills (minimum Microsoft Word, Excel, some exposure to macros/databases preferred).
- Having a valid driving license would be an asset but not disqualifying.
