A Major Milestone for Rural Electrification in Benin

OnePower Benin is proud to announce the upcoming signing of concession agreements for the off-grid electrification of 12 rural communities across Benin.

Authorized by the Government of Benin during the Council of Ministers meeting on September 2, 2026, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to expanding sustainable, inclusive, and reliable access to energy.

These solar installations will provide electricity to communities not connected to the national grid, while supporting local economic development, entrepreneurship, and access to essential services.

Beneficiary communities:

Ahogbèya (Klouékanmè), Godohou (Aplahoué), Tchito (Lalo), Gbakpodji (Bopa), Avloh Centre (Grand-Popo), Ahokanmey, Gobaix and Setto (Djidja), Akouessa (Abomey), Avlamè, Koussoukpa and Kpokissa (Zogbodomey).

We sincerely thank the Beninese authorities and all our partners for their trust and collaboration in bringing this impactful project to life.

At OnePower Benin, we remain committed to making energy accessible, reliable, and a driver of opportunity for rural communities.
