EMPOWERING RURAL WOMEN WITH SOLAR ENERGY

From January 20 to 23, 2025, ANAF led a mission to create women’s cooperatives in Samionta and Gbowèlè, with the aim of improving the economic and social autonomy of rural women. In collaboration with OnePower Benin, we met inspiring women and formed two cooperatives in each village, while setting up committees dedicated to transparent management.

This initiative highlights the importance of access to solar energy as a lever for development, by facilitating income-generating activities. A series of forthcoming training courses will strengthen the skills of cooperative members to ensure sustainable, autonomous development.

These actions pave the way for a brighter future for the women of these communities.
